Acknowledgement of Country

Catholic Education South Australia acknowledges the Kaurna and Nukunu people as the Traditional Custodians of the Adelaide Plains and Eastern Spencer Gulf regions where our Adelaide and Port Pirie offices are based.

We respect their deeply personal and spiritual relationship with their Country and acknowledge their Elders past and present. We also acknowledge the Traditional Custodians of the many lands and waters across the state where we learn, travel, live, work, and play.

Catholic Education Office Reconciliation Action Plan

A key element of “Reconciliation at work” is a committing to a Reconciliation Action Plan. At the centre of our own Catholic Education Office (CEO) RAP are three major intentions/objectives:

  • To support the learning of all CEO staff about Aboriginal Histories and Cultures, particularly through opportunities to learn from Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander peoples about culture, identity and the experience of being Aboriginal Australians.
  • To increase the employment opportunities for Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander peoples in our organisation and ensuring that Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander peoples can see themselves as belonging in our workplaces.
  • To give Aboriginal businesses authentic consideration in procurement processes for goods and services that includes, but goes beyond, cultural consultation
