Paul Rijken, Principal at Cardijn College, has successfully balanced study, teaching and leading in Catholic schools with a distinguished 40 year career in the Australian Army Reserve.
Pre-schoolers were invited to be in a Mini Chef Program at St Francis de Sales this week. To the delight of the children the first lesson was with Laura Cassai, runner up from Master Chef 2014.
The Teacher Certification Process as defined in the Australian Institute for Teaching and School Leadership (AITSL) Standards provided an opportunity for celebration with three CESA teachers recognised.
Ngartuitya Ngadluko (‘for the children’ in Kaurna) is a one-day expressive arts program offered by Catholic Education SA to Year 2-5 Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students in Catholic Schools.
It has become a tradition in the Salisbury Parish that at the start of each year, the Catholic organisations within the Parish come together to celebrate their common purpose in building the Kingdom of God, and are commissioned in this work.

The Dante Alighieri Society of SA celebrated its 50th Anniversary in a ceremony at Parliament House hosted by Minister Bettison and Minister Piccolo and attended by the Acting Italian Consul in SA, Ms Orietta Borgia. Dr Luciana d’Arcangeli, President of the Dante Alighieri Society, presented several awards, including one to Dr Anne Spencer, Languages Consultant, Catholic Education SA pictured to the right.
At celebrations today over 300 people thanked and farewelled Dr Paul Sharkey as he leaves his role as Director of Catholic Education SA to move to Melbourne where he will be the of Director of Catholic Identity and Educational Services at the Catholic Education Office.
An historic Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between Australia’s largest TAFE, TAFE SA and Catholic Education SA (CESA) was signed at the Catholic Education Centre in Adelaide today. This agreement commits to strengthening vocational education training opportunities for students, Catholic education staff and their communities.
