The Dante Alighieri Society of SA celebrated its 50th Anniversary in a ceremony at Parliament House hosted by Minister Bettison and Minister Piccolo and attended by the Acting Italian Consul in SA, Ms Orietta Borgia. Dr Luciana d’Arcangeli, President of the Dante Alighieri Society, presented several awards, including one to Dr Anne Spencer, Languages Consultant, Catholic Education SA pictured to the right. This Award recognises Anne’s service in promoting Italian language and culture in SA.
Partnership with Catholic Education SA
The partnership between Catholic Education SA and the Dante Alighieri Society has contributed to vibrant, contemporary Italian language programs. The language assistants program in CESA schools has been recognised by the Dante Alighieri Society as ‘promoting not only Italian language, but the culture, the feelings, the real essence of our culture’.
Evaluation from teachers in our schools includes that it is ‘highly beneficial to students’ learning’…‘builds intercultural capabilities’ and is ‘an outstanding program’.
Catholic Schools Open Week is back for 2025 – and it’s your invitation to explore what makes Catholic education such a meaningful choice for your child.
