St Francis de Sales College, Mount Barker has been awarded a State government grant of $960 000 to assist with the building of a new Sports Hub for school and community use.
The Australian flag at the Catholic Education Office, Thebarton, flew alone and at half-mast until midday on Monday as a mark of respect for those who lost their lives in Nice, France, and in various places in Turkey during the preceding few days. As on commemorative days with respect having been paid, it returned to the masthead at 12 noon, as a symbol for us to work towards building a better world.
At the Catholic Secondary Principals Australia (CaSPA) 2016 conference dinner on Tuesday 5 July at the MCG in Melbourne, principals from the Association of Principals in Catholic Secondary Schools (APCSS) SA were delighted to celebrate recognition of significant leadership of two of their Principals.
On Friday 1 July the Just Leadership Team at St Joseph's Tranmere presented Tippy Tap Day. A Tippy Tap is a basic wooden structure made with forked sticks, a plastic container for water, a cup with holes in the bottom, some ash for soap and a container to collect the used water.
Meeting clay families was all part of St Joseph’s Norwood/Kensington Pre-School Art Exhibition held in their multi-purpose centre last evening. Excited pre-schoolers brought along their families to ‘show and tell’ them about their clay-constructed families.

A delegation of South Australian leaders from the Catholic Education Office and Catholic schools joined the 1400 delegates at the National Catholic Education Conference in Perth this week. The conference, Faith to Lead, Lead to Faith, brought together leaders from all quarters of Australia and beyond in order that they might reflect on the contribution of Catholic schools and sectors to the young people of Australia.
Recently, St Joseph’s School Port Lincoln focused on the environment by celebrating ‘Eco Week’. Lead by the Year 10-12 SRC, students engaged in many different activities to raise awareness of how we should be nurturing and caring for our environment.
A regional Vocational Education and Training (VET) workshop was held at the Port Lincoln Aboriginal Community Centre last week between all secondary schools in the Port Lincoln region. The purpose was to link VET pathways more closely with local regional employment needs
On Friday 10 June all staff from Immaculate Heart of Mary School, Brompton attended a Reflection day at the Somerton Surf Life Saving club.
