We are seeking an experienced Middle and Senior English Teacher to join our dynamic faculty. This is an exciting opportunity for a dedicated professional who thrives in an engaging learning environment and is committed to academic excellence.

  • Part-time (0.83 FTE), fixed-term contract (potential for permanency)

About the Role

As a Middle and Senior English Teacher, you will play a key role in delivering engaging and thought-provoking lessons that inspire students to think critically, write persuasively, and appreciate the depth of literary works.

You will be responsible for leading middle and senior English classes, preparing students for examinations, and fostering a love for literature in an interactive and stimulating learning environment. Additionally, you will contribute to curriculum development, mentor students, and collaborate with colleagues to enhance the school’s academic standards.

Involvement in the College community co-curricular program is required.

This appointment is a part-time at 0.83 FTE, spread across five days, offered on a fixed-term basis with the possibility of becoming permanent in 2026.

If you possess a Graduate Certificate in Catholic Education and can teach religious education, your teaching load may be increased to full-time (1.0 FTE).

About You

We’re looking for a passionate educator who:

  • Has experience teaching English in middle and senior years
  • Creates engaging, inclusive, and supportive learning environments
  • Works collaboratively with colleagues, students, and families
  • Brings energy, enthusiasm, and a commitment to student wellbeing
  • Knowledge of IB programmes is a bonus, but not essential
  • Experience teaching religious education is also a bonus, but not essential

Qualifications and Training:

  • Current Teacher Registration (or eligibility for registration) in South Australia
  • Working with Children Check (WWCC)
  • First Aid Certificate (HLTAID012)
  • Full Day (7 hour) Responding to Risks of Harm, Abuse and Neglect - Education and Care (RRHAN-EC) training and further refresher   training certifications
