Role Details

Blackfriars Priory School is seeking an experienced HR & Payroll Officer to join our finance administration team.

This role is a rare opportunity to contribute to a vibrant educational community that values excellence, integrity, and compassion.

Reporting to the Finance Manager, the HR & Payroll Officer plays a key role in ensuring the timely and accurate delivery of payroll services, while also supporting end-to-end HR administration functions. This position works closely with the Finance and Executive Teams to uphold high standards of operational efficiency and compliance with employment and enterprise agreement obligations.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Interpreting enterprise agreements and employment contracts
  • Managing leave entitlements, salary packaging and superannuation compliance
  • Coordinating staff recruitment, onboarding and exit processes
  • Maintaining accurate and confidential employee records
  • Ensuring compliance with WWCC, RRHAN-EC, and mandatory staff certifications

Additional Information

About You

To be successful in this role, you will bring:

  • Demonstrated experience in payroll processing and HR administration
  • Sound knowledge of employment legislation and award interpretation
  • High-level administrative and organisational skills
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a collaborative approach
  • A high level of discretion, integrity and attention to detail
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (particularly Excel and Word) and payroll/HR systems
  • A genuine commitment to supporting the values and mission of a Catholic school

This is a permanent, full-time position offering 37.5 hours per week over 48 weeks per year. You will be part of a supportive and welcoming school community that values professionalism and collaboration.
