Role Details

At Star of the Sea, we are currently seeking an innovative and passionate Classroom Music Teacher to join our school.  

The primary focus of this position is to teach classroom music to students from Reception to Year 6. 

This is a 0.6 FTE part-time, contracted position. Commencing 4 August until 12 December 2025.  

About You:

  • Actively support and contribute to the Catholic identity and faith formation of students, staff and families at Star of the Sea
  • Demonstrate the ability to plan, teach, assess, and report on a high-quality Music program relevant and engaging for students in an R-6 setting
  • Possess effective communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with colleagues, students, and parents to develop positive and inclusive relationships
  • A demonstrated ability to enthuse, motivate and encourage students to take part in various music ensembles.
    Promote a culture of learning both in and out of the classroom and show a commitment to personal and collective professional learning
  • Demonstrate a passion for community and a willingness and capacity to contribute to the Star of the Sea Community
  • Coordinate and lead the Festival Choir. Support in the organisation of a variety of performances, eg Assemblies throughout the year, Carols Night

In order to be considered for this opportunity, the successful applicant will require:

  • Bachelor of Education or equivalent
  • Demonstrated experience in Primary Music Education
  • Well developed band & choral direction
