Role Details

This is an exciting opportunity to work in a high-quality, supportive Early Years team of educators in the wider community of St Margaret Mary’s School.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting the Catholic ethos of St Margaret Mary’s School.
  • Providing a welcoming, inclusive and safe environment for all children and their families.
  • Planning and implementing high quality learning programs for children aged 3-5 years with reference to the Early Years Learning Framework 2 (EYLF) and the National Quality Standards.
  • Designing a learning program that promotes children's holistic development across all areas, including social, emotional, cognitive, physical, and language development.
  • Supporting children in their social and emotional development and transitions.
  • Aligning teaching practices and experiences with the objectives outlined in our Quality Improvement Plan.
  • Supporting a culture of reflective practice including critical reflection, engaging with the planning cycle through the use of documentation, responding to and supporting children’s learning.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and respectfully with other educators and staff members to create a supportive and inclusive learning environment.

 

Applicants are required to have an approved early childhood education teaching qualification.

We are seeking an enthusiastic Early Childhood Teacher with a passion for children’s learning, wellbeing and achievement.  The successful applicant will draw upon a range of perspectives in their work, including an understanding of play based and relational pedagogies. You will have the opportunity to work with a dynamic team of educators who are guided by action research focused on culturally and linguistically responsive pedagogies and motivated by the opportunity to provide best practices, care and education within a diverse and inclusive community.

Catholic Education South Australia has announced the first of multiple new Early Learning Centres (ELCs) to be delivered through a major partnership with Accord and Eden Academy.

The first ELC, co-located at Xavier College Two Wells, which will be known as Eden Grove is expected to open in Term 3, 2026. The $4 million purpose-built centre will cater for 141 children, offering care and learning from six weeks to five years of age. An additional Eden Grove ELC will open at Xavier College Riverlea Park in 2027.
