Planning committee delegates from around Australia gathered in Adelaide for a planning day on 17 February in preparation for the 5000 strong Australian Catholic Youth Festival (ACYF). The Festival, catering for a diverse youth group aged 15 to 25 years, will be held at the Adelaide Convention Centre on North Terrace from 3-5 December 2015.
Archbishop of Adelaide, Philip Wilson inspired everyone reflecting on the theme of the ACYF ‘Blessed are the Pure of Heart for they shall see God’. This was followed by a walk to the Convention Centre to check the lay-out, options and possibilities of this contemporary space for ACYF. Planning groups spent time considering the program, logistics, promotions, reflections and accommodation details. Registration opens in April.
James Meston, Conference Coordinator, is excited about the Festival as it takes shape. He said: "Having the entire planning team together was such a wonderful experience. This festival is such an amazing coup for Adelaide and will be without a doubt the biggest event of it's kind that we've ever seen here. I can't wait!"
