August 4-10
Catholic Earthcare Australia, the Archdiocese of Adelaide and the Diocese of Port Pirie invited leaders in their communities to attend a Creation and Reconciliation Pilgrimage held in the Flinders Rangers from the 6th-12th October.
This pilgrimage was centered on the essential link between creation & reconciliation, which are both grounded in God’s creation of the world. God’s ongoing action of creating and reconciling means that all are called into a deeper relationship to reconciliation and healing. Creation and salvation are part of one act: God’s self-giving act of love. The Christian call is to action through mission - mission characterised by reconciliation and liberation with the involvement of all creation.
Personal Transformation: Justice, Reconciliation and Integrity
This unique pilgrimage offered an opportunity for interpreting an experience of personal transformation, through spending time on country, into leading social change for justice, reconciliation and the integrity of creation.
Personal reflection and dialogue were led by the Coulthard family, Fr Denis Edwards, Dr Norman Habel and Professor Paul Clarke. Fr Jim Monahan and Br Peter Faulkner led conversations and reflection about the history and geology of the Flinders Ranges which created a sense of wonder and awe among all participants.
