About the Opportunity 

Catholic Education South Australia (CESA) is seeking a dedicated Early Years Compliance Officer to join our School Quality and Performance (SQP) team. In this pivotal role, you will collaborate closely with the Early Years Advisor and the Senior Advisor: Early Years to shape the future of Early Childhood Education and Care across our system.

This is a full-time, fixed-term position until 30 July 2027.

CESA has oversight of:

  • 70 services registered with the ESB (2 ELCs, 9 Preschools, 12 Occasional Care services, and 47 OSHC services
  • 68 support playgroups
  • 19 OSC services contracts outsources to Third Party Providers

 

Your Responsibilities: 

  • Strategic Leadership & Compliance: Implement SACCS strategy for Preschools, Occasional Care, and OSHC services, ensuring alignment with national standards and regulations.
  • Support & Resource Development: Create support resources for school leaders to meet legislative requirements and deliver professional learning opportunities for educators
  • Policy & Procedure Oversight: Develop and monitor policies and procedures related to Early Childhood Education and Care services, ensuring consistent compliance across all centres.
  • Collaboration & Advisory: Work with senior leaders, Principals, and the Education Advisor: Early Years Compliance to provide strategic advice, support, and ensure best practices in service delivery.
  • Monitoring & Reporting: Conduct site visits, manage date collection and reporting processes, and oversee compliance investigations to maintain high-quality service standards.

 

About you: 

We’re seeking a dedicated professional with a passion for Early Childhood Education and Care, with a strong commitment to Catholic Education. The ideal candidate will have:

  • ACECQA approved qualification in Early Childhood Education and Care
  • Working knowledge and understanding of state and national policies, legislation, and regulations in the area of Early Childhood Education and Care.
  • Expertise in the National Quality Framework and governance in Early Years Education, with a focus on compliance in Preschools, Occasional Care, and OSHC services.
  • Experience leading professional learning initiatives, with strong interpersonal and coaching skills to work effectively with teams, school leaders, and external partners.
  • Strong organisational skills, flexibility, and ability to manage competing demands and drive change.

Catholic Education South Australia has announced the first of multiple new Early Learning Centres (ELCs) to be delivered through a major partnership with Accord and Eden Academy.

The first ELC, co-located at Xavier College Two Wells, which will be known as Eden Grove is expected to open in Term 3, 2026. The $4 million purpose-built centre will cater for 141 children, offering care and learning from six weeks to five years of age. An additional Eden Grove ELC will open at Xavier College Riverlea Park in 2027.
