Role Details

St Mary Magdalene’s School is seeking to appoint a Year 3/4 teacher.  This a full time, contract opportunity to begin Week 9, Term 3, 15 September 2025 until the end of 2025.  The successful candidate will join a dedicated and collaborative team of educators, committed to working in partnership with families and caregivers to provide individualised care alongside quality teaching and learning programs, to ensure students are given opportunities to thrive.

Key Responsibilities

  • Apply curriculum knowledge and teaching methods to facilitate a successful learning environment.
  • Address varying student intellectual, emotional and physical abilities in your teaching practice.
  • Establish positive and effective relationships with students and families.
  • Maintain accurate and comprehensive records of student progress and achievement.
  • Demonstrate effective communication skills with students, colleagues, parents/caregivers and others at all times.
  • Actively commit to uphold and contribute to the ethos of Catholic schools in general as well as that of St Mary Magdalene’s School.

 

About You

We are looking for someone who can develop strong and positive relationships with students and can establish a highly engaging learning environment in and out of the classroom.

To be successful in this role you will:

  • Hold a current Teacher Registration in South Australia.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience of the Australian Curriculum and utilising contemporary evidence based pedagogies including explicit teaching.
  • Demonstrated excellent organisational skills with ability to problem solve and ensure required timelines are met.
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively and develop positive relationships with staff, students and families.
  • Willingness to actively and positively uphold and contribute to the culture and ethos of the school including our Mercy Education Values.

Catholic Education South Australia has announced the first of multiple new Early Learning Centres (ELCs) to be delivered through a major partnership with Accord and Eden Academy.

The first ELC, co-located at Xavier College Two Wells, which will be known as Eden Grove is expected to open in Term 3, 2026. The $4 million purpose-built centre will cater for 141 children, offering care and learning from six weeks to five years of age. An additional Eden Grove ELC will open at Xavier College Riverlea Park in 2027.
