Role Details

An exciting opportunity exists to join the St Francis Xavier's Catholic School team in the role of Business Manager. The successful applicant will work in collaboration with the Principal, Finance Committee, Leadership Team and CESA Finance Team to manage the financial functions and development of our dynamic learning community.

The Business Manager will play an active part in supporting the strategic developments of the school, in creating and maintaining a high quality teaching and learning community where everyone thrives.

The successful applicant will possess high quality collaboration, communication and negotiation skills. The Position Information Document outlines key areas and capabilities required for this role.

Key Role Requriements:

  • Actively contribute and promote the Catholic ethos of St Francis Xavier's Catholic School.
  • Possess excellent financial management skills and experience, including expertise in a variety of financial management and reporting programs.
  • Demonstrate excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills to establish and maintain constructive relationships with all members of the St Francis Xavier's Catholic School community and beyond.
  • Demonstrate exceptional self-management and team skills to achieve quality outcomes.
  • Monitor and report on performance against budget.
  • Prepare annual budget.
  • Management and responsibility of some ancillary roles.
  • Report on financial processes.
  • Process fortnightly payroll.
  • Assist with WHS policies and systems.

About You

  • A degree qualification in Finance, Accounting, Business or Commerce or other relevant discipline is essential
  • Certified Practicing Accountant or Chartered Accountant qualification is desirable, and/or relevant demonstrated knowledge and experience in a comparable role.
  • Experience with complex administrative and financial procedures.
  • Experience of accrual accounting principles, auditing, taxation and payroll.
  • High level of interpersonal skills to interact positively with the school community.

The successful candidate will be required to provide: 

  • Working with Children Check/ Catholic Clearance
  • Full Day (7 Hour) Responding to Risks of Harm, Abuse and Neglect- Education and Care (RRHAN-EC) training
  • First Aid training
