Role Details

This is a permanent position working within the Primary Years of St Joseph’s School. The FTE for this position is negotiable.

The Teacher will:

Be experienced in teaching Primary Years.

The successful applicant will possess:

  • An understanding and commitment to the ethos (values) of Catholic schools. 
  • Apply curriculum knowledge and pedagogies to facilitate learning using the ACARA framework and Primary philosophies.
  • Prepare and submit assessment plans according to the ACARA guidelines.
  • Address individual student learning needs, integrated curriculum and personalised learning specific to Primary pedagogies.
  • Understanding and knowledge of Spelling Mastery, use of or willingness to teach using Explicit Instruction and restorative practices.
  • Understanding of trauma-sensitive practices and restorative practices.
  • Support the ongoing development and maintenance of our learning management and reporting system (SEQTA).
  • Be familiar with emerging technologies and have a strong interest in their incorporation into the curriculum.
  • Ability to work independently, use initiative and develop innovative programs within a school context.
  • Excellent collaboration skills and demonstrated practical skills in working in partnership and in a team.

Qualifications and Training:

  • SA Teachers Registration;
  • Working with Children Check;
  • Approved Responding to Risks of Harm, Abuse and Neglect - Education Care;
  • First Aid Certificate;
  • Be willing to undertake Teacher Accreditation in Catholic Education SA training, along with any other compulsory training necessary for the role.

Catholic Education South Australia has announced the first of multiple new Early Learning Centres (ELCs) to be delivered through a major partnership with Accord and Eden Academy.

The first ELC, co-located at Xavier College Two Wells, which will be known as Eden Grove is expected to open in Term 3, 2026. The $4 million purpose-built centre will cater for 141 children, offering care and learning from six weeks to five years of age. An additional Eden Grove ELC will open at Xavier College Riverlea Park in 2027.
