About the role:

The Junior School Daily Organiser will have a focus on the daily organisation, preparation of rosters and provision of relief teachers. They will work closely with the Director of Learning and Teaching and Junior School Executive team in the coordination, planning and implementation of matters relating to the Junior School. The Daily Organiser will work collaboratively with Junior School administration team, Head of Junior School and Director of Learning and Teaching.

This Education Support Officer (ESO) Grade 4 position works 7:45am to 3:45pm Monday to Friday across 42 weeks of the school year. Some flexibility of working hours are required to receive staff absentee calls and organise temporary relief staff (TRT) and during peak work periods and is an expectation of this role.

Key responsibilities

  • Maintain effective procedures for:
    • day to day operations of the College.
    • communication of administrative expectations and procedures.
    • health and safety of College staff and students.
  • Manage the allocation of relief lessons
  • Assist in the development of timetable solutions using staff relief quotas and TRT staff to cover absences including staff leave, professional development, excursions and meetings
  • Facilitate, plan, program and publish the daily roster for the relief teacher program and leave programs keeping the Head of Junior School informed of all leave, excursion and incursion requests ensuring that all supporting documentation is in place
  • Be accountable for accurate and equitable distribution of teacher relief quotas and rosters
  • In partnership with People & Culture and Payroll, maintain an up-to-date register of available TRT staff, ensuring appropriate qualifications and clearances are provided prior to employment

Professional requirements:

  • Well-developed administrative, word processing, data entry, clerical and communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal relations and communication
  • Advanced skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office suite including Word, Excel, Publisher
  • Proficient knowledge SEQTA
  • Flexible and adaptable in approach to work practices and management strategies
  • Support and nurture the College’s Catholic ethos and Ignatian charism.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Collaborative approach with staff members, students and parents.
  • Possess, or be willing to obtain, a Working with Child Check (WWCC) and,
  • Possess or be willing to obtain, a Responding to Risk of Harm, Abuse and Neglect-education & Care (RRHAN–EC) training.

Experience working in a similar role in a school setting is desirable.
