🗓 Start Date: Monday 21st July 2025 – Friday 5th December 2025

🕒 Workload: 0.5 FTE over four days per week

Are you passionate about helping young people find their voice, explore deep questions, and step into the world with purpose?

We are seeking a dynamic and reflective Senior School Humanities Teacher to inspire students across three contemporary subjects that sit at the heart of identity, belief, power and agency.

🗳 Politics, Power & People | This subject delves into how power is distributed and exercised at all levels of society. Students investigate cooperation, conflict, and political crises, and explore Australian and global systems through historical, cultural, legal, philosophical and economic lenses. You’ll guide students in analysing case studies, critiquing political ideas, and applying theory to real-world situations—nurturing the next generation of engaged citizens and leaders.

Spiritualities, Religion & Meaning | A rich exploration of belief, diversity and the human search for meaning, this subject is framed around six “big ideas” that provoke deep thinking—such as justice, belonging, flourishing, ecology, and the ultimate questions of life. Students analyse perspectives through media, speakers, and lived experience, building empathy, ethical understanding and reflective insight. You’ll support students to connect ancient wisdom with contemporary realities in ways that are personal and transformative.

🔍 Activating Identities and Futures (AIF) | AIF is a unique, compulsory SACE subject that empowers students to drive their own learning. Through a self-directed inquiry into an area of personal interest, students develop agency, problem-solving strategies, and a deeper understanding of how to learn when the path is unclear. You’ll mentor students to harness their curiosity, apply cross-curricular capabilities, and transform interest into action.

You might be the right fit if you:

  • Have experience (or strong interest) in teaching Politics, Religion/Spiritualities, or cross-disciplinary Humanities
  • Are passionate about student voice, identity, and purpose-driven learning
  • Thrive in inquiry-based, reflective and contemporary classroom environments
  • Want to be part of a forward-thinking learning culture that values ethical engagement and critical thinking

Why join us?

🌱 Be part of a values-led school that encourages deep thinking and courageous conversations
🔍 Teach contemporary subjects that connect learning to the real world
🤝 Join a collaborative team committed to nurturing global citizens with heart and mind
