Rostrevor College Cricket is on the Rise!

Cricket at Rostrevor College has a distinguished history dating back to the school's foundation in 1923. Over the past few years, Rostrevor's Cricket Program has gone from strength to strength, with growth in participation resulting in exciting achievements both on and off the field. With a strong foundation now in place, Rostrevor's Cricket Program is in a position to cement our school as a destination for budding athletes, and we are looking for a passionate cricket professional to help lead the way.  

Rostrevor College is seeking an enthusiastic and knowledgeable Cricket Coordinator on an independent contractor basis to support and enhance the continued development of our program. This is a unique contract opportunity to work alongside dedicated coaches and students, contribute to a growing legacy, and shape the future of cricket at Rostrevor College. 

Scope of Services to be Provided: 

  • Liaise with Cricket Coaches and ensure there is clarity and consistency in game plan, expectations and intended outcomes.

  • Be involved with the planning of significant events, such as Intercol, Knockout and Internal or External Tour Matches. 

  • Communicate with Facility & Operations Manager and Grounds & Maintenance to ensure relevant facilities and oval spaces are maintained to a high standard.

  • Coordinate the recruitment and development of Cricket coaches, in line with the broader College ethos and approach to sporting programs.

  • Monitor student involvement and adherence to basic expectations such as attendance at training and matches, wearing of correct uniform, appropriate levels of engagement etc.

  • Frequently liaise with, and support Rostrevor College staff who are involved in the Cricket Program, to ensure they can operate at the most effective and efficient level possible. 

  • Ensure that records and achievements are documented, along with weekly results from competition fixtures.

  • Establish and publish a Rostrevor Cricket philosophy for the Senior, Middle and Junior Years. This should include exemplar sessions for all age groups with specific focus and intended outcomes. 

  • Attend training and matches, across a variety of days and year levels.

  • Engage with broader cricket community and form/maintain relationships with organisations such as SACA, District Cricket Clubs and similar.

  • Contribute to the maintenance of, or gradual increase in, participation in cricket at Rostrevor College. 

  • Contribute to noticeable improvement in the quality, structure and development of all Cricket teams within the program. 

  • Ensure that the Cricket Coaches feel supported and are given opportunities to develop their craft.

  • Ensure that students frequently experience enjoyment, skill development, and an increase in their knowledge and understanding of Cricket through their participation in Cricket.

 

Additional Information

This is an independent contractor arrangement, not an employment position. The contractor will be responsible for -

  • Their own ABN, taxes and insurance. 
  • Their tools/equipment and manage their own work schedule in alignment with agreed-upon timelines and College events. 
  • A valid Working with Children Check
  • A valid First Aid Certificate
  • A valid Responding to Risks of Harm, Abuse and Neglect - Education and Care (RRHAN-EC) certificate

$ to be negotiated based on qualifications and experience
