Role Details

The Sole Grounds/Maintenance person will maintain a clean, safe and tidy environment.  This includes the upkeep of the yard and facilities, the maintenance of equipment and the ongoing procedures associated with maintaining the school.

Duties:

  • Repairs and maintenance to building externally & internally
  • Repairs and maintenance of fittings and fixtures to maintain an appropriate level of functionality and safety
  • Completion of projects around the school site including movement of furniture,  gardening and grounds work
  • Management of rubbish collection and waste disposal
  • Maintenance of lawns, landscaping and irrigation systems
  • Servicing plant and equipment in accordance with Manufacturer’s Instructions
  • Management of grounds generally, including minor repairs, painting, maintenance, cleaning and safety inspections of paths, roadways, fencing, gates and play equipment
  • Maintain general cleanliness and tidiness of the school buildings and yard
  • Management of Contractors and Suppliers engaged for special projects as directed by the Principal or Business Manager
  • Management of Work, Health & Safety including:
  • Maintenance and testing of fittings and fixtures in accordance with the School Maintenance register
  • Maintain list of preferred contractors and provide WH&S induction to all contractors annually
  • Perform safety audits and report to WH&S coordinator as required

The successful applicant will have:

  • Experience in a similar role
  • Police Clearance to work in Catholic Education SA
  • Responding to Abuse and Neglect Training
  • First Aid Certification
