At Mercedes College, we’re looking for a dynamic Primary School ESO Sports Coordinator to take the lead in planning, coordinating, and delivering inclusive sports experiences that keep our students moving, learning, and loving every moment of it.

This is a hands-on administration role that requires strong organisational skills, clear communication, and a passion for sport in the primary years. You'll help foster a culture of fun, fair play, and teamwork—on and off the field.

🏅 Your role will include:

• Leading the administration and coordination of our Primary School’s sports program
• Organising carnivals, interschool events, training schedules, transport, equipment, and trophies
• Communicating clearly with students, families, and staff via newsletters, emails, social media, and announcements
• Managing resources—ordering gear, maintaining first aid kits, setting up and packing down events
• Supporting students of all ages and abilities, including those with learning needs
• Coordinating and supervising other staff and volunteers involved in school sport
• Contributing to student reporting, performance tracking, and event evaluations
• Being the go-to person for all things sport-related in the primary school
• Attending rostered Saturday work (up to 5 hours on some weekends during sporting seasons)

🛠️ What you’ll bring:

• A qualification in Sports Coaching, Fitness, Sport Development or similar
• Experience working in a primary school or children’s sport setting
• Strong administration, time management, and organisational skills
• Confidence with Microsoft Office and digital tools
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Ability to work independently, use initiative, and lead with enthusiasm
• Availability to work after school hours and rostered Saturdays as required

⏰ About the hours:

While this is a primarily weekday-based role, some Saturday work is required—rostered and planned in advance, with a maximum of up to 5 hours per Saturday, depending on the sporting calendar.
