Role Details

We are looking for a dedicated Education Support Officer to join our supportive and collative teaching and learning team at St Joseph’s School Tranmere!

Your Responsibilities will include:-                                                                         

  • Assisting students in small groups and one-on-one settings to support learning across all curriculum areas.
  • Supporting a safe, orderly, and successful learning environment through the implementation of behavioural management strategies.
  • Supervising and caring for students with formally identified special needs, following Personalised Plans for Learning (PPL).
  • Providing instruction to students within a structured learning environment.

About you

You are passionate about education, possess strong organisational skills, and can adapt and contribute to a dynamic learning environment. You have:-                   

  • A Certificate IV or Diploma in Education Support (or equivalent)
  • Previous experience in supporting student learning in a school setting.
  • Experience in implementing learning intervention programs such as MiniLit or be willing to undertake training
  • Strong organisational and communication skills.
  • The ability and desire to be a team player, offering flexibility and willingness to support others.
  • Sound interpersonal and teamwork skills, able to work successfully, flexibly, and collaboratively with others.
  • The ability to work under direction, follow instructions and use initiative.
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • A current Catholic Police Check or DCSI screening.
  • Certification in Responding to Risk of Harm, Abuse, and Neglect – Education and Care.
  • A valid First Aid Certificate.
