Role Details

As a WHS Coordinator at St Joseph's Catholic School Payneham, the following is expected: 

  • An ability to work as a team member to achieve best practice and to work in a collegial manner to improve practice in WHS and designated areas.
  • A commitment to uphold and contribute to the ethos of St Joseph’s Catholic School Payneham.
  • A high level of written and verbal communication skills and satisfactory training and computer skills.
  • An ability to plan, organise and work independently and maintain a high level of confidentiality.

Key Duties: 

  • The administration of the WHS and risk management program.
  • Arrange for WHS-related maintenance and preventive maintenance of facilities to be undertaken.
  • Prepare various WHS reports, including those for the School Board.
  • Maintain risk assessments and risk and compliance registers.
  • Provide guidance to staff in the areas of safety, risk and compliance.
  • Develop, review and update compliance policies and procedures.
  • Work with all staff to promote a culture of safety and compliance in all aspects of the school’s operation.
  • Have visible presence in the school regarding safety inspections.
  • Oversee the compliance of all mandatory training.
