About the role:

The College is seeking to appoint a replacement part-time Early Childhood Educator for Term 3, 2025. Applications are invited from Early Childhood Educators (minimum of Certificate 3 educated) or equivalent ACECQA approved qualification, with an ability to demonstrate authentic, collaborative and supportive practices. You will be a nurturing and passionate educator and have the ability to provide quality preschool and long day care for all children. 

Working collaboratively as a member of the Early Years team, you will work 31 hours per week (7:30am-3:30pm Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday, and 7:30am to 4:30pm, Wednesday) supporting 3- and 4-year-olds.

Key responsibilities:

  • Have a good understanding of emergent curriculum in order to contribute to the development of the program within the early years.
  • Have a thorough understanding of the Early Years Learning Framework ‘Belonging, Being & Becoming’.
  • Be a passionate educator and strive to uphold Ignatian values, Reggio Emilia Principles and ensure our Ignatian Early Years philosophy is reflected in daily practice.
  • Plan, coordinate and implement an early learning program in collaboration with the IEY Director, year level team educators and teachers, and special needs support to meet the needs of all children.
  • Competently use appropriate information technology for documenting learning of all children in liaison with classroom educators, classroom support and relief staff.
  • Assist in the collection, recording and evaluation of children’s records and observations, as required by ACECQA and to inform the daily program.
  • Have a high level of both verbal and written communication skills.
  • Contribute to group and individual reflective practice and critical reflection

The successful candidate will:

  • Certificate 3 or equivalent ACECQA approved qualification.
  • Possess or be willing to obtain, a catholic police clearance and complete Responding to Abuse and Neglect Training.
  • Have a current Working with Children Check.
  • Possess or be willing to obtain NCHC (National Criminal History Check) Certificate.
  • Act as a positive role model, demonstrating appropriate behaviour and language.
  • Be flexible and adaptable in their approach to work practices and management strategies.
  • Respect the confidentiality of all information about a child.
  • Work as a team, throughout Ignatius Early Years.
  • Involve yourself and take opportunities available for professional learning.
  • Have an affinity with, and preparedness to support the Catholic ethos and Ignatian charism of the College.
