The Director of Mission promotes, maintains and enhances the Catholic identity of the College and is committed to a Lasallian philosophy of education.
They will be a member of the Henley Leadership Team, and will work in support of, collaboratively with and at the direction of the Principal. Also working closely with the Lasallian Campus Minister, Pastoral Support Worker, Director of Religion and Spirituality (Primary Campus) and the Leader of Learning – Religious Education, the local parish and the De La Salle Brothers.
The Director of Mission will be an exceptional educator and leader with a passion for faith and learning who is able to inspire and guide others, drawing on social contexts and life experiences in their religious leadership. Catholic schools today exist in social contexts characterised by diversity, including changing religious practice and a plurality of religious faiths existing in a secular space.
Religious leadership at St Michael’s College discerns and implements meaningful, respectful and effective ways to engage students, staff and families with Christian faith. This leadership promotes the Catholic identity of a school in a way that honours the Catholic Tradition and respects and learns from the faiths of all students.
Furthermore, the Director of Mission is acutely aware of the College’s Lasallian Charism, mission and vision through Community, Challenge and Choice.
The Director of Mission is responsible to the Principal for the leadership of the College as an authentic Catholic Lasallian educational community. They are also accountable, through the Principal, to the Head of Secondary Campus, Deputy Principal – Pastoral.
The Director of Mission is a member of the Henley Leadership Team, Henley Pastoral Team and chairs the Catholic Lasallian Identity Committee (CLIC), a sub-committee of the College Board.
This position line managers the Lasallian Campus Minister and Pastoral Support Worker and is supported by the Middle School Administration Officer.
Leadership responsibilities will be discharged in accordance with the College’s mission and vision statement and policies.
