The Opportunity

St Joseph’s School West Hindmarsh OSHC and Vacation Care is looking for a vibrant and energetic educator to join our team as a casual employee. Our commitment is to create a safe, engaging, and supportive space for children to thrive during before and after-school hours. The service is a valuable and integral part of our school community, and we welcome children from Pre-school to Year 6.

Key Responsibilities

• Support the Catholic ethos of the school
• Support the provision of a safe, healthy and stimulating environment for children, offering individual support and comfort when required
• Implement daily routines as directed
• Assist in the preparation of program planning for individual children and groups
• Work with individual children and groups of children according to their needs, as instructed

About You

We are looking for someone with a genuine desire to work with children and be willing to engage with them in a positive, sensitive, and respectful manner. You will have:

• Ability to work and communicate effectively with students, families and colleagues
• Ability to work, under supervision, in accordance with the principles of the OSHC Quality Assurance process
•  A current acceptable Working with Children Check (WWCC) clearance
•  Current certification in Responding to Risks of Harm, Abuse and Neglect in Education and Care Settings or willingness to undertake prior to commencement.
•  ACECQA approved First Aid qualification, or willingness to undertake.

This is a casual position. Availability for before and afterschool care is preferred, as well as during school holidays for the Vacation Care program.
