An exciting opportunity exists to join St Mark’s community in a Permanent, Part-time capacity as an Education Support Officer (ESO; Curriculum). The position commences on July 21, 2025, and is Monday to Friday 8.30am – 3.30pm (term time only).
As an Education Support Officer, you will support the Catholic ethos of our school community and will contribute to:
Learning Needs
- Have experience in supporting students with complex learning and behavioural needs.
- Demonstrate skills in implementing strategies which support specific skills development and the wellbeing of students.
- Have an understanding of inclusion and be able to implement learning programs which support the success of learners.
- Assist students with a range of software applications to support the individual needs of students.
- Support the learning of students with specific learning needs in a group or individually.
- Demonstrate an ability to work collaboratively with class teachers and wider staff.
Personal Care:
- Shadow students with special needs during recess and lunch to ensure their safety and wellbeing.
- Assist with the personal care needs including toileting and feeding of students with special needs as necessary.
- Assist in lifting transferring and positioning students with appropriate manual handling training and equipment e.g. hoists, as per recommendations, and within the occupational health and safety guidelines and policies of the college.
As an ESO you will be energetic and enthusiastic, warm and engaging and will be willing to work to support the needs of the students at St Mark’s College.

Additional Information
Must have or be willing to obtain
- A Certificate in Education Support (or equivalent) or other associated qualification relevant for a school setting is preferred, however, previously demonstrated experience working in a classroom support role will also be considered.
- Hold a current acceptable Working with Children Check (WWCC) clearance & screening to work in Catholic Education South Australia.
- Responding to the Risks of Harm, Abuse and Neglect Training - Education and Care (RRHAN-EC)
- First Aid Certificate (HLTAID012), Continence Training, Manual Lifting
