Role Details

The Assistant Director will work closely with the OSHC Director to provide a safe, welcoming and stimulating environment for children in Before and After School Care, along with Vacation Care.

This is a full-time, permanent position, working 37.5 hours per week for 48 weeks per year. 

School Terms - Monday to Friday 7.00am to 9.00am and 2.00pm to 6.00pm

Vacation Care - Monday to Friday 7.00am to 3.00pm OR 10.00am to 6.00pm

Block shifts as well as some split shifts, negotiable 7.5 hours scheduled administration time outside of the service's operational hours.

Additional administration hours may be completed during service hours, provided ratios permit and when there are no other tasks to attend to.

 

Applications are invited from persons who are able to fulfil the following criteria and are passionate about creating a nurturing and engaging environment for children:

  • Provide a safe, harmonious and stimulating environment for students and staff incorporating the Catholic Ethos of our school
  • Have comprehensive knowledge of OSHC compliance
  • Oversee, implement and evaluate the learning framework 'My time our Place' and the National Quality Standards to meet the needs of children in OSHC
  • Manage the Australian Children's Education and Care Quality Authority (ACECQA) assessment process
  • Monitor, review, evaluate and maintain services against the Quality Improvement plan (QIP)
  • Train and develop staff in accordance with the QIP policies and procedures and the National Quality Framework (NQF) standards
  • Organise staff daily rosters, ensuring at all times adequate supervision and direction is provided for students on placement at the service and volunteers within the service
  • Report regularly on aspects of the day to day management of the centre, to the OSHC Director as required
  • Support the financial management of the OSHC
    • Regarding program planning (resources required)
    • Menu (food to purchase)

Additional Information

Required qualifications:

  • First Aid - HLTAID012
  • Working with Children Check (WWCC)
  • RRAHN - Full certification
  • ACECQA approved qualification

Advantageous to have knowledge of:

  • ACEQUA
  • NQF/NQS
  • MTOP
  • QIP
  • SIP
