We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Finance Officer to oversee and manage the financial operations of our school on a part-time basis. This key role provides strategic financial support to the Principal and ensures the effective management of the school’s budget, compliance, and reporting obligations.
This is a permanent, part-time 0.4FTE position.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage day-to-day financial operations, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting
Prepare and monitor the school’s annual budget in collaboration with the Principal
Ensure compliance with departmental and regulatory financial policies and procedures
Maintain accurate financial records and prepare reports for school leadership, the Board, and external stakeholders as required
Oversee payroll processing, accounts payable/receivable, and reconciliation processes
Support funding applications, grant reporting, and audits
Identify areas for financial efficiency and provide strategic financial advice
Liaise with auditors, government bodies, and external service providers as needed
Essential Criteria:
A degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
Relevant professional experience in a finance role
Sound knowledge of financial management systems and budgeting processes
Excellent organisational, analytical, and communication skills
Ability to work independently and collaboratively with school leadership
A high level of integrity and commitment to confidentiality
