Role Details

The Opportunity

St Mary’s Memorial School is seeking a committed and proactive Grounds and Maintenance Officer to join our school community. This part-time, permanent position is ideal for a skilled and reliable individual who takes pride in maintaining a safe, welcoming, and well-presented environment for students, staff, and families.

In this role, you will work across a broad range of responsibilities, ensuring our school grounds and facilities are maintained to a high standard in accordance with WHS requirements. You’ll work collaboratively with the school team and contractors, providing day-to-day support while demonstrating strong initiative and a solutions-focused approach.

About You

The successful applicant will:

  • Demonstrate experience and competence in general building, grounds, and facilities maintenance.

  • Show a strong commitment to work health and safety and safe work practices.

  • Be organised, self-motivated, and able to work under low supervision.

  • Possess excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate professionally with staff, students, and external contractors.

  • Be prepared to undertake training as required. 

Additional Information

The successful applicant must:

  • Hold a current acceptable Working with Children Check (WWCC) clearance & screening to work in Catholic Education South Australia.

  • Hold current certification in Responding to Risks of Harm, Abuse and Neglect in Education and Care Settings (RRHAN-EC)

  • Comply with CESA's Code of Conduct and WHS legislation.
