Role Details

Star of the Sea is seeking applications from Education Support Officers-Curriculum Stream (ESO's) that are passionate, student focused and who share in our excitement for learning as we embark on a journey towards new levels of excellence.  

We are a welcoming Catholic School situated in the western suburbs of Adelaide.  

The ESO will work with and support individual students, and/or small student groups as directed by the Leadership Team and teachers as well as the following: 

  • Actively support and contribute to the Catholic ethos of Star of the Sea
  • Deliver and support inclusive learning programs (with individual students and/or small groups) under the direction of the classroom teacher
  • Demonstrate a commitment to and enthusiasm for working collaboratively within a learning community and build positive relationships with staff, children and families
  • Experience in working with children with diverse and special needs, this will include, but is not limited to, children with a diagnosis or challenging behaviours
  • Supervise and care for students with formally identified special needs in accordance with Personalised Plans for Learning (PPL)
  • Assist with identifying and supporting student learning or behaviour challenges
  • Assist teachers with student supervision during excursions, sports activities, school events and yard assist, as required

Additional Information

  • Screening clearance and current valid Working with Children Check (WWCC) to work in Catholic Education SA.
  • Current valid Responding to Risks of Harm Abuse and Neglect – Education and Care (RRHAN-EC).
  • Current and accepted HLTAID012 - Provide First Aid in an education and care setting.
  • A Certificate IV in Education Support and/or relevant demonstrated knowledge and experience in a comparable role.
