Role Details

St Gabriel’s School offers an exciting opportunity for a vibrant and experienced Office Administrator/Executive in our school.  The Office Administrator/Executive will bring professionalism, a positive approach, excellent interpersonal and communication skills and a commitment to school improvement to the team.

The successful applicant will:

  • Be committed to developing and maintaining positive, collaborative working relationships with students, parents and colleagues.
  • Provide confidential administrative support including work of a highly confidential and sensitive nature.
  • Liaise on behalf of the Principal with members of the school community, service providers, visitors, and external parties regarding school matters.
  • As directed, draft non-standard correspondence or responses to complex situations providing a high level of communication and confidentiality.
  • Administration of Principal’s diary, meetings, travel, and bookings, as required.
  • Assist in arranging meetings and events and support the organisation and catering of whole school functions such as School Tours, orientation days etc
  • The Office Administrator/Executive encompasses skills in managing reception duties at the front office, word processing, data entry, First Aid, report generation, database management, parental consents, enrolments and other general administrative tasks.

Ten years ago, a unique cross-sector initiative between Catholic, public and independent schools in South Australia was established to certify teachers as Highly Accomplished and Lead Teachers (HALT).

Fast forward to November 2024 and Catholic Education SA (CESA) is delighted to announce its 100th certified HALT teacher; Penny Bateman, from Xavier College, Gawler Belt campus. Penny, who holds the position of English Curriculum Leader, began her teaching career in 2021 and started her HALT certification this year. Receiving HALT certification means that Penny will now be able to mentor colleagues in the process and provide expert guidance on evidence-based teaching practices while fostering professional growth within her department.
