With only one percent of Australia’s carpentry workforce being female, Kildare College at Holden Hill is breaking down stereotypes, offering a reimagined Stage 2 Design, Digital Technologies and Engineering subject which sees students designing and then manufacturing their own woodworking project.
Today was an exciting day of firsts for Catholic Education South Australia!
103 Catholic schools across the State welcomed our biggest ever intake of students including 4000 new Receptions, two brand new schools opened their doors and four regional schools welcomed Year 8 for the first time.
A message to staff, students and families ahead of the 2022 school year, from Dr Neil McGoran, Director Catholic Education South Australia.
The South Australian Commission for Catholic Schools and Catholic Education South Australia (CESA) will complete 27 capital development school projects in 2021.
A further 17 projects are underway and set for completion in 2022 and beyond. Several other projects are due to start next year.
The works are part of CESA’s commitment to providing state-of-the-art facilities to meet the requirements of today’s teaching and learning.
Congratulations to the eleven Catholic school students who were among 29 to receive commendations in 2021.
The Governor of South Australia Commendation recognises excellence in Year 12 SACE subjects, and in the qualities young people need for community life, citizenship, and work.
The South Australian Commission for Catholic Schools (SACCS) has launched a bold expansion strategy that will guide the work of Catholic Education South Australia from 2022 to 2027.
The strategy will see a significant expansion of Catholic schools over the next five years, with student numbers set to climb over 50,000 for the first time.
Tomorrow is a big day. For us all. As your child starts their first day, either in the classroom or remotely, it is a big day for you all as a family. New classes, new teachers, new friends and of course, fresh new haircuts. It’s all a bit new. Adding the additional “new normal” with the added disruptions of COVID-19 may take it is toll on the family.
We understand that parents will have many questions about the changes to the 2022 school year announced by the Premier on January 13.
The achievements of students with disability in their final year of school have been celebrated at the 2021 Barkuma Transition Program Graduation Ceremony.
The event is the culmination of Barkuma's 12 month program designed to assist final year students with disability and learning difficulties to make the smooth transition from school to future pathways.
The majority of students enrolled in the Program attend Catholic schools.
Catholic Education South Australia congratulates the “Class of 2021” on their outstanding SACE results. 3,403 Catholic school graduates from across 33 Catholic Schools have obtained their SACE, with a completion rate of 99.3%.
