20 year Celebration at Our Lady of Hope School

Recently Our Lady of Hope celebrated its 20th year in Education. A celebratory campus assembly was attended by the founding Principals Bert Michels, Our Lady of Hope and Steve Portlock, Greenwith Primary.  The current Principals, Mr Kevin Blake for Our Lady of Hope and Mr Rick Bennallack for Greenwith were also in attendance.

Our Lady of Hope School is situated in a unique campus setting with Greenwith Primary School and is the only one of its kind in Australia.  There are other shared campuses around the country, but none of them share facilities to the extent that these schools from different sectors do.  It is an arrangement that was innovative and unique when the campus was opened in 1994 and it remains so today, 20 years later.

The success of the campus and the schools is due to many things, not the least of which has been the hard work, commitment, foresight and initiative of the founding Principals and staff.  It is thanks to those people who built and developed the campus, that a wonderful foundation was established which has allowed the campus and schools to grow and prosper. Over the past 20 years it has developed into the excellent model of primary schooling, cooperation and collaboration that both schools celebrate in a special way this year.

The schools consider themselves very fortunate to be a part of the Greenwith campus and to have the benefit of all the wonderful shared and individual school facilities.  Both schools are much better off in terms of what the children and the families enjoy because of shared campus.
