Kildare College, Holden Hill

Kildare College was opened in 1966 when the Brigidine Sisters accepted an invitation from the Archbishop of Adelaide, Bishop Matthew Beovich, to open a school for girls in the then newly growing North-Eastern suburbs.
Classes commenced at the college with 32 students in February of that year with the official opening taking place on March 13 1966. The Brigidine Sisters lived at the college convent until the end of 1990.
Kildare Education Ministries maintains responsibility for the wellbeing and governance of Kildare College, the only Brigidine school in South Australia.

With the retirement of Mrs Margaret Rouggos, Kildare Education Ministries is seeking visionary and contemporary Catholic educators, with a strong commitment to the evangelisation of young people and a passion for transformative learning and teaching practice.

Kildare Education Ministries invites applicants who are interested in either Principalship or Co-Principalship, and who are committed to a model of distributive and team-oriented leadership. Applicants can either apply as an individual for Principalship or express interest in Co-Principalship within their application.

Kildare College has proudly served the community of Holden Hill and surrounds in its education of young women for 53 years. The current Principal, Mrs Margaret Rouggos has provided outstanding leadership for the past 11 years.

An inclusive school based on core Kildare Ministries values, Kildare College has a current enrolment of approximately 580 students. It has kept abreast of current educational practices, and is a welcoming, Catholic, faith-filled community that meets the needs of young women.  Known for its innovation and its agenda of continuous improvement, especially in learning and teaching pedagogy, Kildare College boasts a broad curriculum and wellbeing programs tailored to the individual.
