Katie Pasin’s passion for music has been rewarded – the young student will benefit from a scholarship to support her study at the Elder Conservatorium.

In June, Katie Pasin, who completed Year 12 at Xavier College in 2018, was awarded the 2018 Kathleen McPhee Music Scholarship.

The $1000 dollar scholarship is awarded to a Year 12 student in a Catholic School who is studying Music at Year 12 level and is accepted into a Bachelor of Music/Music Education course at the University of Adelaide or an approved tertiary institution in Australia.

Katie has commenced a Bachelor of Music – Music Theatre course; a new course launched at the Elder Conservatorium, University of Adelaide in 2019. Katie is part of the inaugural intake of students for this course of study, which provides the intensive training and the physical and intellectual skills necessary for a career in live theatre entertainment.

The award ceremony was attended by Ms Felicity Millerd, daughter of Kathleen McPhee; Katie’s friends and family; Xavier College Principal Mr Lynn Martin; and member of the selection panel, Mr Tim Donovan from St Michael’s College.

CEO representation included Scholarship Planner and Catholic Schools Music Festival Coordinator Mrs Samantha Taylor, Senior Education Advisor Mr Bill Pecker, and Assistant Director Ms Monica Conway who conducted the official presentation.
