CESA welcomes new Director

Catholic Education South Australia warmly welcomes our new Director, Dr Neil McGoran.

Dr McGoran commenced his appointment as Director of Catholic Education SA (CESA) on September 11 2017.

He comes to role from the SACE Board of South Australia, where he was Chief Executive since 2013. Previous to this he was the principal at Nazareth Catholic College Secondary Campus at Flinders Park.

As an educator, he is interested in the needs of young people in the 21st Century, in the context of an evolving, globally-focused and digital world. Dr McGoran has 25 years’ experience in education in a variety of roles including teacher, principal, senior administration and management.

Announcing the appointment in May, Adelaide Vicar General Father Philip Marshall said his extensive knowledge in strategic planning would be vital in building on the work of the South Australian Commission for Catholic Schools’ Strategy for Leading Catholic Education to New Levels of Excellence. CESA is responsible for 103 Catholic schools comprising 46,000 students and 6000 staff across metropolitan and regional SA.

Dr McGoran replaces interim director Mr Bruno Vieceli.
