Certification enhances the professionalism of teachers, enabling them to gain recognition for the quality of their teaching and progress their careers while remaining in the classroom.
Formal recognition of exemplary teachers can make an important contribution to the quality of teaching and leadership in schools.
Certification of Highly Accomplished and Lead teachers has three primary purposes:
In the current Catholic Education SA Enterprise Agreement, remuneration is attached to certification with an annual allowance of $3,000 for Highly Accomplished Teachers and $4,000 for Lead Teachers (pro-rated for part-time employees).
