Position Overview

Cardijn College is seeking a compassionate and detail-oriented School Nurse and Reception Lead to join our dedicated team. This dual role combines the critical responsibility of managing student health and well-being with the leadership of the Reception team, ensuring smooth daily operations in a vibrant school environment.

This permanent, full-time position offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on students, families, and staff while contributing to the holistic mission of our Catholic school community.

 

Key Responsibilities 

  • Health and Well-being Support: Provide first aid, manage student health care plans, facilitate immunisations, and ensure the maintenance of accurate medical records.
  • Reception Leadership: Oversee daily student reception tasks, including attendance, communication with families, and management of student data systems.   
  • Administration: Leading the development of sound administration procedures. Maintain first aid equipment, prepare kits for excursions, and support broader administrative needs with accuracy and efficiency.
  • Team Collaboration: Work closely with leadership teams, parents, and external providers to ensure the health and operational needs of the College are met.
  • Compliance and WHS: Uphold Work Health and Safety standards and ensure compliance with all relevant legislation, policies and procedures.
     

About You

To succeed in this role, you will:

  • Have a strong commitment to student health and well-being, with experience in first aid and emergency care.
  • Demonstrate experience providing high-quality administrative services.
  • Possess excellent organisational, communication, and interpersonal skills to manage competing priorities and liaise with diverse stakeholders.
  • Be skilled in contemporary administrative systems, including Microsoft Office, and capable of maintaining confidentiality in sensitive matters.
  • Share a commitment to the Catholic ethos and values of Cardijn College.

Fast forward to November 2024 and Catholic Education SA (CESA) is delighted to announce its 100th certified HALT teacher; Penny Bateman, from Xavier College, Gawler Belt campus. Penny, who holds the position of English Curriculum Leader, began her teaching career in 2021 and started her HALT certification this year. Receiving HALT certification means that Penny will now be able to mentor colleagues in the process and provide expert guidance on evidence-based teaching practices while fostering professional growth within her department.
