The Push-pull unit is a full unit aligned to the Australian Curriculum. The unit provides the opportunity for students to explore pushes and pulls. Through investigations, students observe and gather evidence about how these forces act in air and water, and on the ground. Students identify the effect of the pull of gravity and learn that both air and water can 'push'.
The Machine makers unit is a full unit aligned to the Australian Curriculum. Through hands-on activities students explore the different strengths of pushes and pulls required to manipulate and control the movement of objects to create their own amazing machine.
This unit of work focuses on learning about different pushes and pulls and how students can identify these within different contexts. Students experience an introduction to pushes and pulls, forces on land and water, toys and motion, machines and sinking and floating.
