Inquiry Question

How do seeds grow into plants?

Advice for Parents

Children love the excitement of seeing a seed that they’ve planted come to life.  There’s lots of opportunities for learning as you read seed packets with your children and talk about the conditions for growing, make labels for pots and garden beds, and later, talking about their observations, measuring and predicting further growth.

When the seeds start to shoot take a photo each day to compare growth.  You can turn these photos into a book about growing seeds.

If you don’t have a garden, here’s a link to a simple process for planting in pots.
