2017 SACE exams underway

The first major written South Australian Certificate of Education (SACE) examination takes place today (Monday 6 November) when more than 3,600 students sit their Biology exam.

A total of 10,468 students in metropolitan Adelaide will sit at least one Stage 2 examined subject, and a further 3,427 students from regional South Australia.

Other major subjects being examined next week include English Literary Studies (Tuesday 7 November), Modern History (Wednesday 8 November), Essential Mathematics, General Mathematics, Mathematical Methods (Thursday 9 November), and Legal Studies (Friday 10 November).

The final two exams will be Australian and International Politics, and Musical Styles, on Wednesday 22 November.

The top ten most popular examination subjects for 2017 in South Australia are:

  1. General Mathematics – 4,188
  2. Biology – 3,645
  3. Mathematical Methods – 3,024
  4. Physical Education – 2,463
  5. Psychology – 2,420
  6. Chemistry – 2,276
  7. English Literary Studies – 2,177
  8. Physics – 1,915
  9. Essential Mathematics – 1,512
  10. Modern History – 1,452
